Contracted vessels would be an essential part of a response if an oil spill were to occur again in the Prince William Sound region. These vessels (predominantly commercial fishing vessels) are anticipated to do everything from oil recovery to tasks such as crew transport, wildlife hazing, sensitive area protection, and other needs. The vessels are based out of six regional ports: Valdez, Cordova, Whittier, Seward, Homer, and Kodiak.

2011 Fishing Vessel Owner Meeting
It had been a year since the program faced major hurdles, and PWSRCAC felt it was important to engage with fleet representatives. At the meeting start, PWSRCAC explained to participants that the end goal was to provide recommendations for improving the program to Alyeska/SERVS based on the concerns and comments from the meeting.
