Prince William Sound Aquaculture Corporation
Growing up in Valdez, Nicholas spent every summer commercial fishing in Prince William Sound for salmon as a deckhand aboard his father’s seine boat the F/V Lady Sandra. After graduating from Valdez High School in 2001 he continued fishing with his father in the summer. He spent his winters earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2006 and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University in 2009.
The combination of Nicholas’s fishing experience and education helped him acquire a position with Valdez Fisheries Development Association as their Cost Recovery Manager where he spent 4 years until he resigned in 2018 in order to purchase a Prince William Sound seine permit and a 42′ seine boat named the F/V Big Dipper.
Nicholas currently serves on the executive committee for the Prince William Sound Aquaculture Corporation and was appointed by the PWSAC board to be their RCAC representative. He is also the Vice Chair of the Valdez Fish & Game Advisory Board, holds a current 100 Ton Master Captain’s License, and has been a long-time participant in the SERVS oil spill recovery program.
